Every child—no matter where they happen to have been born in the world—deserves a safe, enriched, and happy childhood. In Malawi, communities have stepped up, and there has been a wonderful increase in the number of pre-schools. Unfortunately, many of these schools do not have the funds to buy even the most basic resources such as books, educational toys, and teacher aids all needed so children can have a positive learning experience.
Mwana was founded by four women based in Derbyshire. As mothers and grandmothers, we were privileged to be able to give our own children and grandchildren the best possible start in life.
We absolutely believe that every single child deserves that same enriched foundation – we are sure that you believe this too.
We want to extend that gift to Malawi. By sending funds directly to local teachers, we bypass bureaucratic overheads so teachers can buy books, pencils, paints, chalk, and outdoor play equipment locally.
